Running Dynamics
If you want to run more efficiently, analyzing your running dynamics is a great place to start. These biomechanical metrics can help you understand your running style and trends in order to improve your form. Your cadence, vertical oscillation, ground contact time, ground contact time balance, stride length and vertical ratio are displayed during your run and can be reviewed afterward. It’s kind of like having your running form analyzed at a running store or gait lab, except all you need is your Forerunner watch and a compatible running dynamics accessory. Since running dynamics are about how your whole body moves in space, they can’t be measured at the wrist. These metrics require a body-mounted accessory to pair with your watch.
Running Dynamics Pod
The easy-to-use pod is so small you probably won’t even notice it’s there. Just clip it onto the back waistband of your shorts, start your watch, and head out for a run.
HRM-Run™
This seamless, comfortable chest strap is made with the competitive runner in mind. The module is small and lightweight and fits entirely within the strap.
HRM-Tri™
The HRM-Tri monitor is made specifically for triathlon race day, but — when you’re running — it provides the same running dynamics measurements as the other sensors. It’s great for running, cycling or open water swimming.
